Gary McGaghey

Gary McGagaghey has over 15 years of experience in senior management, including as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He first started in South Africa and has since served in multiple international roles.Career ExperienceGary McGaghey began his career in the retail food and household products manufacturing industry. He was with Robertsons Foods, Baker Street Snacks, and Robertsons Homecare for nearly 10 years. After working up through the ranks, he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Vice President (VP) of Logistics at these various companies. He also held various roles as a Board Member and Committee Member.
Upon leaving the Robertsons and Baker Street companies, McGaghey joined Unilever. His first position was in South Africa, but he worked in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland as his career progressed. Through this time, McGaghey was CFO, VP of Finance, Global Manager and Acquisitions (M&A) Director, and Interim CEO. His last position with Unilever was as the CFO of Pepsi Lipton International Joint Venture.
In May 2017, McGaghey moved on to Nelsons. He served as Group CFO for two years and was also the Statutory Director, Company Secretary, and an Executive Board Member.
McGaghey is now with Williams Lea Tag as Group CFO. He’s been with Tag for almost two years, driving transformation and value creation for the €1.3 billion company.
EducationGary McGaghey completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Natal and his postgraduate bachelor work at the University of South Africa, where he graduated with honors.
Since finishing his academic degrees, McGaghey has become a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Management Accountant through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He was also awarded a Non-Executive Director Diploma by the Financial Times in 2014. This last recognition is a Level 7 postgraduate qualification.
